Manchester, Jamaica – A 40-year-old woman from Manchester has been charged after attempting to smuggle contraband hidden in slices of bread into the Christiana Police Lock-up during a visit to her son.
Monique Palmer, a resident of Ballynure district, was charged with introducing contraband to a police lock-up following the incident on Sunday, February 18.
According to police reports, around 1:15 p.m., during the designated prisoner visiting hours, Palmer presented several items for her son, who is currently in custody.
Upon conducting a routine search, officers discovered ganja, tobacco leaves, and an earphone concealed within slices of bread. She was immediately arrested and later charged.
Palmer remains in police custody as authorities finalize her court date.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) continues to remind the public that smuggling contraband into police facilities is a serious offense and will be met with strict legal action.
