St. Catherine, Jamaica – A team from the St. Catherine North Proactive Investigation Unit (P.I.U.) has captured 47-year-old Gregory Ferguson, otherwise called ‘Ruff’, who was wanted for murder since 2021.
Ferguson, a resident of Duncan’s Pen Road, Spanish Town, St. Catherine, was apprehended on Cherry Lane in Kitson Town on Sunday, February 16. He was wanted in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Cody McLaughlin, also of Duncan’s Pen Road, which occurred on Sunday, March 7, 2021.
Operation Leads to Arrest
Ferguson had been listed as wanted under the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s (JCF) Wanted Wednesday campaign. At approximately 12:40 p.m., officers from the P.I.U. were conducting an operation targeting wanted men when they spotted Ferguson driving a Nissan Tiida motor car along the roadway.
He was signaled to stop and complied. Following a search of both Ferguson and the vehicle, a Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol with a magazine containing six 9mm rounds of ammunition was discovered in his possession.
Investigation Ongoing
Ferguson was immediately taken into custody, pending further investigations. Law enforcement officials continue to urge the public to assist in the fight against crime by reporting illegal firearms, gunmen, and gang activities.
The JCF remains committed to bringing fugitives to justice as part of its #WantedWednesdaysUpdate initiative.
