MANCHESTER, Jamaica – A 45-year-old woman from Manchester is facing severe charges of child trafficking after allegedly using her 13-year-old daughter as payment for alcoholic beverages at a local bar.
The disturbing allegations, which surfaced following an investigation by the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA), have shocked the community.
According to police reports, the incident occurred in 2020 when the woman, whose name is being withheld to protect the victim’s identity, visited a bar and accumulated a bill she was unable to pay. Instead of settling the debt, she allegedly offered her daughter to several men present at the establishment, allowing them to sexually assault the child.
The young girl managed to escape the situation, and a report was subsequently filed with the CPFSA. Their investigation led to the arrest of the mother, who now faces charges of child trafficking.
“These are deeply troubling allegations,” stated a representative from the Manchester Police. “We are working closely with the CPFSA to ensure the safety and well-being of the victim and to bring all those involved to justice.”
Authorities are currently working to determine the exact number of men involved in the alleged assaults. The investigation remains ongoing, and further details are expected to be released as they become available.
The CPFSA is providing support and care for the 13-year-old victim. The case has sparked outrage and calls for increased vigilance in protecting vulnerable children within the community.
