MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Police in Manchester are probing the brutal murder of a farmer who was chopped to death in the Canewood district, near Mile Gully, on Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Shyan Young, otherwise called “Shane,” of Epping Forest, Comfort Hall, in the parish.
Reports from the police are that about 9:00 p.m., residents stumbled upon Young’s body lying along a roadway in the community. Lawmen were alerted, and upon arrival, detectives discovered what appeared to be multiple chop wounds covering the farmer’s body.
It is further reported that Young’s dog was also found butchered nearby, believed to have been killed by the same attacker.
The body was removed to the morgue after Young was pronounced dead at hospital.
Investigations are ongoing.
