Man Who Escaped Police Custody in St Mary Turns Himself In

ST. MARY, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) — Twenty-nine-year-old Herbie “Junior” Ballentine of Frazerwood, Highgate, St. Mary, who escaped police custody last Friday, October 3, has surrendered to authorities.

Reports from the St. Mary police stated that Ballentine was shot and injured during a confrontation with law enforcement earlier that day and was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment under police guard.

While being handed over to police personnel by members of INDECOM, Ballentine reportedly escaped from custody in the area.

On Monday, he turned himself in to the Islington Police Station, accompanied by his attorney. He was arrested and remanded into custody as the investigation continues.
