Man Taken into Custody in Connection with Murder of Barber Montego Bay

Jamaica Crime News, St James -Detectives attached to the Freeport CIB Department in Montego Bay St James has confirmed that the prime suspect has been taken into custody in connection stabbing death within the inner city area on Wednesday morning of June 6th.

The police have also indicated that the suspect who hails from the community of Hart Street will now be placed before a series of identification parades.

The police stated that the barber is known so far as (Index) who resides along Hart Street in Montego Bay, where the shop from which he operates is located.

Reports by the police are that, shortly after 1:30 am, on Wednesday, The barber was standing along the roadway when he got involved in an argument with a man.

During the altercation, the man brandished a knife which he used to stab the barber several times to the regions of his upper body. The man then walked away from the area.

The Barnett Street police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded Barber was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The lawmen further stated that based on investigations the victim is not originally from the parish of St James. They are now asking anyone with information that could assist to call the Freeport Police Station at 953 – 6191, or the Barnett Street Police Station or call 119.
