FRANKFIELD, Clarendon — A 39-year-old chef, Anray Williams, also known as “Bartel,” has been charged with the murder of his 33-year-old wife, Shashane Williams, following a gruesome incident in Cupid District, Frankfield, early Tuesday morning. Williams is currently hospitalized under police guard.
According to police reports, the couple was at home with their children when a domestic dispute turned deadly at around 12:05 a.m. During the altercation, Anray Williams allegedly used a knife to inflict multiple stab wounds on his wife before setting the house on fire.
The couple’s children managed to escape the burning house without injury, and nearby residents rushed to assist. Shashane Williams was reportedly pulled from the flames by residents.
When emergency responders arrived, firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze. Shashane was found in the yard suffering from multiple stab wounds and burn injuries. She was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Anray Williams later turned himself in to the police and was taken into custody. He reportedly sustained injuries during the incident and remains under medical care while in custody.
The Clarendon police have launched a full investigation into the murder, which has sent shockwaves throughout the community.
