Fourth Victim Dies Following St Mary Crash

St Mary, Jamaica — The lone survivor of a deadly weekend crash along the Rio Nuevo main road in St Mary has died, bringing the death toll to four.

The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Chad Beckford, a carpenter from Steer Town in the parish. Beckford passed away on Monday, two days after the crash that claimed the lives of three of his passengers.

According to police reports, Beckford was driving a Mercedes-Benz motor car along the Rio Nuevo roadway when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle while navigating a corner. The car ran off the road, crashed into nearby bushes, and slammed into a tree.

The impact killed all three passengers — Kenroy Fung, Brandon Nelson, and Romario Grey — at the scene. All four men were transported to the Port Maria Hospital, where Beckford was admitted in critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries on Monday.

Police investigations into the fatal crash are ongoing.
