A man already facing legal troubles is now in deeper waters after being charged in connection with a daring early-morning robbery in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland.
Collin Brown, better known by the alias ‘Eye Ball’, of Seaton Crescent, is accused of teaming up with two knife-wielding accomplices to ambush a man around 4 a.m. on March 16. Police say the victim was simply walking along the roadway when the trio pounced.
The robbers allegedly made off with a cellphone worth $17,000 and $5,000 in cash, vanishing before police arrived.
But Brown’s luck ran out. Already on bail for another, unrelated case, he was arrested while dutifully reporting to authorities as part of his bail conditions. He was formally charged on Thursday with robbery with aggravation and assault at common law.
The police continue to investigate, as efforts are likely underway to identify and locate the other suspects involved in the brazen attack
