Police in Clarendon have commenced an investigation following the fatal shooting of a man in Lionel Town on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 57-year-old Orville Garriques, also known as “Bugle,” a resident of the community.
According to reports from the police, at approximately 11:00 a.m., loud explosions—believed to be gunshots—were heard in an area called Capture Land. Residents in the vicinity alerted authorities after the sounds were detected.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered Garriques lying along the roadway with apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to the May Pen Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The May Pen Criminal Investigation Branch has since taken over the case and is continuing inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
