May Pen, Clarendon – A 34-year-old man has succumbed to injuries sustained in a two-vehicle collision in May Pen on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Fabian Morris, a labourer from Bucknor district in Clarendon.
According to police reports, the crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Central Avenue and Doctor Bell Drive. The vehicles involved were a black 2016 Atenza Mazda motorcar and a green 1998 Mitsubishi Lancer motorcar.
Investigations revealed that the Mazda was traveling west along Central Avenue while the Mitsubishi was heading south along Doctor Bell Drive. Upon reaching the intersection, the Mitsubishi entered and was struck by the Mazda.
The impact sent the Mitsubishi crashing into nearby stones and a concrete wall. The Mazda’s front section was damaged, and its driver sustained injuries to his right hand, as well as pain in his head, chest, and back. The Mitsubishi’s left side was severely damaged, and its driver also suffered head, chest, and back injuries.
Morris, a passenger in the Mitsubishi, sustained injuries to the left side of his body. All three individuals were transported to May Pen Hospital, where Morris was pronounced dead at 12:01 a.m. while undergoing treatment.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
