Man Dies After Being Struck by Motor Vehicle in Whitehouse, Westmoreland

The Whitehouse police in Westmoreland are investigating a motor vehicle accident that claimed the life of a man on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as 54-year-old Vinard Tomlinson of Whitehouse.

According to reports from the Whitehouse police, at about 11:00 p.m., Tomlinson was among patrons at a bar along the Whitehouse main road. He reportedly left the bar and attempted to cross the roadway when he walked into the path of a grey Nissan Wingroad motor car.

Tomlinson was struck and dragged by the vehicle, sustaining severe head and body injuries. He was rushed to Savanna-la-Mar Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver, fearing for his safety, drove to the Whitehouse Police Station to report the incident and was warned for prosecution.
