Prince George’s County, MD — Authorities have charged a 38-year-old man with murder after the body of his girlfriend was discovered wrapped in plastic and partially encased in concrete at their shared home.
According to the Prince George’s County Police Department, officers were conducting a welfare check on April 24 at the residence of Michael McClanahan and Sherron Turner, 44, when they made the grisly discovery. Turner’s remains were found hidden beneath concrete inside the property.
A subsequent autopsy determined Turner died from blunt force trauma, and her death has been ruled a homicide. Investigators quickly identified McClanahan as the primary suspect, securing an arrest warrant for first- and second-degree murder, along with a charge for the improper disposal of a body.
McClanahan was already in custody in Washington, D.C., following his arrest on April 25 for unrelated incidents. According to local reports, including WJLA-TV, McClanahan was allegedly caught on camera shoplifting at a Walmart. During his apprehension, he is accused of stabbing a victim while being handcuffed, further complicating his legal troubles.
Authorities say McClanahan will be extradited back to Prince George’s County to face the murder and related charges. Police have not yet disclosed a motive but described the case as deeply disturbing.
