Los Angeles, CA — Kanye West is reportedly preparing to take legal action against his former dentist, accusing the practitioner of reckless and dangerous behavior that allegedly caused the rapper both physical harm and financial loss.
According to a notice of intention to sue, West’s legal team — led by attorney Andrew Cherkasky — has formally notified Dr. Thomas P. Connelly of the impending lawsuit. The filing claims Connelly, who began treating West in early 2024, “engaged in numerous inappropriate and dangerous practices that were far outside the bounds of any legitimate medical purpose or standard of care.”
At the center of the allegations is the alleged misuse of nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas. West’s team claims the dentist administered excessive amounts of the gas without medical justification, allowed West to self-administer it without supervision, and continued treatment even as the rapper exhibited “adverse neurological and behavioral signs.”
The notice asserts that these alleged actions resulted in both physical injuries and substantial financial damages for West, though specific figures have not been disclosed.
Neither Dr. Connelly nor his representatives have publicly responded to the claims as of this report.
