Jamaica Crime News, Hanover: The Lucea police have confirmed that one man was taken into custody earlier this week and charged in connection with the shooting and wounding of another man in Hopewell square, Hopewell, Hanover on Monday night, February 11.
The police also pointed out that the identity of the accused is being withheld, as he may be placed before an identification parade.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 8:30 p.m., the victim was walking along a track which leads to his home in Hopewell square, when he was ambushed by armed men.
The gunmen opened fire hitting the victim multiple times to his upper body, but the wounded man managed to run and collapsed a few chains away in the square.
The police were summoned and the wounded man was rushed to the Cornwall Regional hospital where he was admitted in critical condition.
