Jamaica Crime News, St Thomas: A man who the police say is believed to be of unsound mind, was found chopped to death after he reportedly kicked open the door to a family house in Yallahs, St Thomas on Wednesday, September 26 and severely chopped three occupants, killing one.
Dead is Jerval Walker, 24-year-old laborer of Mount George, while the insane man has been identified as Sullan Grinnell, 23-year-old of the said address.
Reports by the police are that about 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Walker was at his family home in the company of his two nephews, when Grinnell armed himself with a machete and kicked open the door to the house.
The insane man then used the machete to chop all three occupants multiple times to their bodies, before running from the house.
Residents in the area were alerted, Walker and both boys were rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The other two victims were treated and admitted in serious condition.
Minutes later, an angry mob went in search of the accused. They later caught up with him at an abandoned house where he resided, he was attacked and chopped to death.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, the scene was processed and Grinnell’s body removed from the scene.
