Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: The Spanish Town police on Thursday, September 27, seized an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition at Bungo Lane in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.
Reports by the Spanish Town police are that about 9:10 a.m. on Thursday, a team of officers were carrying out patrols duties in the area when they saw two men.
Upon seeing the lawmen approaching, the men ran and escaped in the area.
The police carried out a search of the area, which resulted in the discovery of a High Point 40 Smith and Wesson pistol, fitted with a magazine containing three Federal 40 cartridges.
The weapon was discovered in a calvert drain.
