Kingston Maintenance Worker Caught with Illegal Gun

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: A 29-year-old maintenance worker was charged with Illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, after he was held with an illegal firearm along Hope Road, Kingston 6 on Thursday, September 27.

He has been identified as Daniel Grant of Mountain View Avenue, Kingston 3.

Reports by the Papine police are that about 2:00 p.m. on Thursday,  a team of officers were carrying out patrols duties along Hope Road, when Grant was seen acting in a suspicious manner.

He was accosted and searched, and a knapsack he was carrying contained a 9mm Browning pistol, with a magazine containing fourteen live rounds of ammunition.

Grant was taken into custody and subsequently charged.

He is booked to appear in the Corporate Area Gun Court on Friday, October 12.
