Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: One man is now in police custody following the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition by the police in Old Harbour, St Catherine on Monday night, October 29.
Facing charges of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition is Chevoie Brown, 27-year-old laborer of Spring Village, also in Old Harbour.
Reports by the Old Harbour Police are that about 9:45 p.m., a team of officers were carrying out patrols duties in sections of Spring Village, when they saw Brown.
JDF Coast Guard Caught with Illegal Firearm, Granted Bail
Upon seeing the lawmen approaching, the accused started to act in a suspicious manner and he was accosted.
A search of his person led to the seizure of a .38 revolver loaded with three live rounds.
Brown was arrested and subsequently charged. He is booked to appear before the St Catherine Parish Court on Friday, November 9.
