Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: Jason Anderson,  the 27-year-old Jamaica Defense Force Soldier who was caught in possession of an illegal firearm in Kingston on Wednesday, October 17, was granted bail when he appeared in the Corporate Area Gun Court on Friday, October 26.
Private Anderson who is attached to the JDF Coast Guard Division and resides at Whitehall district in Kingston 8, was granted bail in the sum of $200,000 and order to return to court on November 30th.

Reports by the Kingston police are that on Wednesday afternoon, October 17, a team of officers were carrying out patrols duties along Oliver Road in Rockford, Kingston 2, when they saw a man acting in a suspicious manner.

The man who later turned out to be Private Anderson, was approached and later searched.

During a search of his person, a Browning 9mm semi-automatic pistol, loaded with thirteen live 9mm rounds was taken from him.

The soldier was taken into custody and subsequently charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
