It was courtroom confusion and emotional confessions this week in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court, as Cleon Williams—charged with unlawfully intercepting someone’s free passage—showed up in ripped skinny jeans and was barred from entering the courtroom.
NSecurity at the courthouse initially refused him entry, citing inappropriate attire, but Judge Tracy-Ann Robinson wasn’t having it. She ordered police to let him in and made him stand at the door, questioning if he knew where he was.
Williams, clearly flustered, responded:
“Mi lose everything… mi jus’ a start over.”
Williams, who also faced a disorderly conduct charge, claimed he had been locked up from morning till afternoon without any check-in—a point the prosecutor later confirmed.
Despite attempting to defend himself during plea proceedings, Judge Robinson instructed him to enter his plea first. Williams pleaded guilty to both charges.Taking into account his personal struggles and the police station incident, Judge Robinson sentenced him to:
- 40 hours of community service for unlawfully blocking someone’s path
- And admonished and discharged him of disorderly conduct
