JUTC Bus Fire Prompts Emergency Response on Lady Musgrave Road

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A public bus operated by the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) was damaged by fire early Friday morning along Lady Musgrave Road in the capital.

The incident occurred around 6:20 a.m. while the vehicle was in service on Route 83, the corridor connecting Downtown Kingston and Half-Way Tree. Reports indicate that roughly 40 passengers were on board at the time the fire ignited.

Passengers managed to exit the bus safely before the flames intensified. No injuries were reported.

Emergency crews later arrived at the location and brought the blaze under control.
