Judge to Sentence Mother Who Did Not Send Her Child to School

Spanish Town, Jamaica (McN) – A St. Catherine mother who did not send her child to school will be sentenced after pleading guilty.

Yvonne Lampart,  29-year-old appeared at the St Catherine Parish Court to face charges of failing to secure education for a her child, has plead guilty to the charge.

Lampart, who is of a St. Spanish Town, St. Catherine address allegedly did not make sure that her 10-year-old daughter go to school over a significant period.

The matter was reported to the police who launched an investigation on the allegation. Police investigations confirmed the allegations and the case was reported to the Office of Children’s  Advocate, and the mother was arrested.

The Judge is to decide sentencing after the court receives social inquiry report on the accused mother.
