Kingston, Jamaica — Three men are dead following a violent incident early Monday morning along Molynes Road near the Olympia Crown Hotel in St. Andrew. The tragic sequence of events reportedly began when a member of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), accompanied by a woman, came under gunfire from two men on a motorcycle.
The deceased JDF soldier has been identified as 26-year-old Private Fernado Dixon. The identities of his attackers, who were travelling on a motorcycle, are yet to be released by the police.
According to police reports, the attack occurred around 4:00 am. In an apparent act of self-defense, the JDF member used his motorcar to collide with the motorcycle carrying the attackers. Both men on the motorcycle were fatally injured.
The scene has been cordoned off by police, who are working to process evidence. Thus far, two firearms have been recovered.
