Trelawny, Jamaica (McN) – Jamaica’s Violet Moss Brown is now the word’s oldest person, she was the runner-up to Emma Morano of Italy, the long-standing survivor of the 19th century, who is now dead.
Emma Morano, was on record as the last known person that was born in the 1800s alive. She died tranquilly at her home in Verbania, Italy on Saturday April 14, 2017; at 117 years old.
Violet Moss Brown, Called “Aunt V” of Duanvale in Trelawny, was born on March 10, 1900. Her oldest child, 96-year-old Harold Fairweather is still alive.

Jamaica’s and the world’s oldest person, Aunt V, as she is affectionate known is a Seventh-day Adventist who credits her long life to her faith in God.
