Jamaican Sprint Sensation Thieanna-Lee Terrelonge Poised to Sign with Adidas

Promising Jamaican teenage sprinter Thieanna-Lee Terrelonge is reportedly in negotiations to sign a professional contract with German sportswear giant Adidas. The 17-year-old, who recently withdrew from Edwin Allen High School, is expected to train under coach Shanikie Osbourne at the newly established Uptimum Performance Track Club.

Terrelonge made headlines at last year’s ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Championships by clinching the Class 2 100m title and securing a second-place finish in the 200m. However, injuries have since hampered her progress, limiting her participation at the World Athletics Under-20 Championships in Lima, Peru, in August 2024. During the event, she finished fourth in her 100m heat with a time of 12.03 seconds and did not advance further.

Despite these setbacks, Terrelonge boasts impressive personal bests of 11.13 seconds in the 100m, achieved at the JAAA National Junior Championships in June 2024, and 23.53 seconds in the 200m, recorded during the NACAC Under-18 Championships in Costa Rica in 2023, where she secured a sprint double victory.

Coach Shanikie Osbourne, formerly of the MVP Track Club, has expressed intentions to maintain a focused and small training group at Uptimum Performance Track Club, aiming to provide personalized attention to each athlete.

Efforts to reach Terrelonge’s representatives for official comments have been unsuccessful.
