GLASGOW, Scotland : Jamaica Makes Commonwealth Games History— Jamaica has achieved a historic milestone at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, qualifying for its first-ever Mixed 4x100m Medley Relay final while setting a new national record in the process.
The quartet of Sabrina Lyn, Kito Campbell, Collin McKenzie and Jessica Calderbank secured their place in the final after clocking 3:58.00 in the heats. Their performance earned Jamaica the seventh-fastest qualifying time and established a new national record in the event.
Australia recorded the fastest qualifying time of 3:46.04, followed by Scotland (3:48.35) and England (3:48.68). Jamaica advanced alongside Canada, South Africa, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man to complete the eight-team final.
The achievement adds to a strong showing for Jamaica’s swimmers in Glasgow. Sabrina Lyn also became the first Jamaican swimmer to reach an individual Commonwealth Games final after qualifying for the women’s 100m breaststroke final.
Jamaica will now look to build on its record-breaking performance when the team lines up in the historic Mixed 4x100m Medley Relay final.
