Jamaica’s Under-17 Reggae Boyz have officially qualified for the FIFA U17 World Cup after defeating Canada 3–1 in their decisive Concacaf qualifying match.
The crucial victory came during group stage competition in Costa Rica, where the young Jamaicans delivered a strong performance to book their place at the global tournament. With the result, Jamaica finished atop their group with maximum points after also recording wins against Aruba and the Cayman Islands.
Match reports show that Jahmarie Nolan, Jamone Lyle, and Jaheem Bennett all found the net to seal the historic result for the national youth side. The triumph marks Jamaica’s return to the U17 World Cup for the first time since 2011 and represents the country’s third appearance at that level.
Sports officials have praised the squad’s discipline and preparation throughout the campaign, noting that the achievement reflects continued development in Jamaica’s youth football programme.
The upcoming FIFA U17 World Cup is scheduled to be staged in Qatar.
