An Intra-Tec sub machine gun and an empty magazine was discovered during an operation carried out in Bogue, St James, on Thursday morning.
Reports are that shortly after 10:00am, a joint police/military team carried out an operation at a section of the Bogue community.
During the search of several unoccupied buildings, the lawmen stumbled upon a black rustic Intra-Tec sub machine gun fitted with an empty magazine.
No one has been arrested in connection with this seizure.
