St. Thomas, Jamaica – The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has launched a probe into the shooting of a woman by her partner, who is a serving member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday night, August 27, in Morant Bay, St. Thomas.
According to reports, at about 8:30 p.m., the detective corporal and the woman were at home when a domestic dispute developed. During the altercation, the policeman allegedly discharged his firearm. It was later discovered that the woman had sustained gunshot wounds.
She was rushed to hospital where she is currently being treated.
INDECOM has since commenced an investigation into the matter.
