Jamaica Crime News, Montego Bay: The Western office of the Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM) says they are now carrying out a probe into the circumstances, where a Police Corporal discharged his weapon in the directions of a robot taxi, which was being driven by an ex-police officer in Montego Bay on Saturday afternoon of July 7th.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 1: 30 p.m. on Saturday, the Police Corporal who is assigned to the Freeport Traffic Department, got involved in an argument with the ex-police officer along a section of Church Street in downtown Montego Bay, allegedly over him operating a robot taxi.
It is further reported that, the ex-cop was in the process of driving away when a loud explosion was heard and it was discovered that it was, in fact, a bullet which came from the gun which the Corporal had in his hand.
Luckily no one at the busy downtown area including the driver was hurt, but the bullet Lodged in the rear section of the vehicle, just a fraction away from the gas tank.
Other officers were summoned to the scene which was taped off and processed. Citizens in the busy downtown area expressed their anger and told our news team that the Police Corporal allegedly shot at the tires of the moving vehicle but missed.
