A man was shot and killed in an alleged shootout with police in Portmore, St Catherine, on Wednesday.
According to reports, around 3:40 p.m., a police team conducting an operation at a residence was allegedly confronted by the man, resulting in an exchange of gunfire during which he was shot.
Police later reported discovering three imitation firearms and a Taurus pistol, which was loaded with four rounds of ammunition, in the man’s possession. The weapons were seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
The man, whose identity remains unknown, was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. INDECOM has since launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
