St James, Jamaica – Police in Montego Bay are investigating the discovery of an illegal firearm that was found in an abandoned building in Providence Heights on Monday.
According to reports from the Montego Bay police, officers received a call at approximately 12:01 p.m. alerting them to the presence of a suspicious item in the vacant structure. Upon arrival at the location, the officers were handed a .38 revolver that had been discovered inside the building.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident. Investigators are working to determine how the weapon came to be at the location and whether it is linked to any criminal activity.
The police are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
