6 Shot Dead In 24 Hours In St. James

St. James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)- 6 Shot Dead In 24 Hours In St. James: Over the past 24 hours, a total of six persons have been shot, including  four dead, in the parish of St James. This blood letting forced the Freeport police to visit multiple murder scenes on Saturday October 21.

The spate of murders started late Friday night, when  gunmen shot up patrons outside a shop on Barnett Lane in Montego Bay, killing one man and wounding another.
A few hours later, gunmen again struck at two separate locations. Two more shootings and wounding involved  a teenager at Catherine Hall, and  another man  shot dead at Long Bay in Lilliput.

The two latest victims were shot and killed by gunmen at Salt Spring and Norwood in the early hours of Saturday afternoon.

Up to news time, both victims still remain  unidentified. Reports are that about 12:30 pm, the police were alerted to gunshots being fired in an area bordering Salt Spring and Cornwall Courts.

On the arrival of the police, they came upon the male victim, who was lying in a pool of blood, with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. The victim is about 6ft 2 ins. tall, medium built.He had a low haircut, is of light  complexion, and clad in a grey hoodie, grey sweat pants and a pair of grey and white Puma Sneakers.

At  about 2:30 pm, the police were again alerted to a section of Norwood, known as Shanty Town. It is reported  that a man was walking along a section of the roadway, when he was ambushed by gunmen and shot.

Both victims were taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
