Kingston, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Detectives assigned to the St. Andrew South Police Division are reporting a major weapons find following an early morning operation on Tuesday, October 14.
Reports reaching McKoy’s News are that around 6:10 a.m., a team from the Hunts Bay Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) launched a targeted snap operation at an open lot in the Kingston 13 area.
During a meticulous search of the premises, lawmen stumbled upon a high-powered Mac 11 submachine gun, complete with a magazine loaded with two live rounds. The deadly weapon was cleverly concealed inside an old refrigerator, apparently stashed away by criminals hoping to keep it hidden from the eyes of the law.
No one was arrested in connection with the discovery; however, investigators say strong leads are being followed as the probe intensifies.
Police are urging residents to speak up and help rid their communities of illegal guns and ammunition. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hunts Bay Police at 876-923-7111, Crime Stop at 311, the Police 119 emergency number, or visit the nearest police station.
The St. Andrew South Police continue their relentless push to take illegal firearms off the streets and ensure safer communities across the division.
