St. Andrew, Jamaica – Police have launched a full investigation after a 48-year-old businessman was found dead inside his vehicle early Thursday morning at a Merrivale Close apartment complex in Constant Spring Gardens.
According to reports from the Constant Spring Police, the man was discovered in a sitting position inside his Ford Ranger motor truck with a suspected gunshot wound to the right side of his head. His licensed Glock firearm was found resting in his lap.
The scene was located in the parking lot of Merrivale Apartments, though police say it does not appear to be his primary address.
Detectives suspect the businessman may have taken his own life, but a full forensic investigation is ongoing. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.
The disturbing discovery has shocked residents in the usually quiet apartment complex, as investigators continue to piece together what led to the businessman’s final moments.
