Jamaica News, April 4, 2018 – Hanover Police Seeking Assistance
Hanover, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – The Lucea police in the parish of Hanover say they are now asking members of the public for their assistance, to identify the driver of a white motor car which mowed down a pedestrian in the Esher community on Friday night, March 30.
The deceased has been identified as Winston Pinnock, 22-year-old unemployed of Lester Lane in Haughton Court and Maryland, both in Lucea.
The police from the Lucea Traffic Department have reported that about 11:15 p.m. on Friday, Pinnock was walking from the directions of the Fisherman’s Beach in Esher. He was in the process of crossing the roadway in the vicinity of the Fishing Village and Russell Road, when he was mowed down by the driver of a white motor car which was traveling from the directions of Green Island towards Lucea.
The driver of the ill-fated vehicle failed to stop and hit Pinnock in the process. The wounded man was transported to the Noel Holmes hospital in Lucea where he was pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, the police say they are now asking any member of the public with information that could lead to the arrest of the hit and run driver to contact 119, the Lucea Police Department or the nearest police station.
