Jamaica News, St James: One man is now dead and another man admitted to hospital in serious condition, following their involvements in a motor vehicle accident, which occurred along a section of the King Gate main road in Anchovy, St James, on Tuesday night of July 17th.
The deceased has been identified as, Andrew Smith, 44-year-old, truck driver of Camp Road in Hopewell, Hanover. The male driver of the other vehicle also sustained injuries and was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.
Reports by the Anchovy police are that about 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Smith who is employed as a driver at the Big Joe Juice Company in Western Jamaica, was travelling in a Toyota Axio motor car from the directions of Anchovy towards Long Hill.
On reaching a section of the King Gate main road, he lost control of the vehicle and failed to keep to his left which resulted in his car colliding into a Toyota Isis motor car, which was travelling in the opposite direction.
Smith and the other driver sustained head and body injuries and were rushed to the Cornwall Regional hospital where Smith was pronounced dead, and the other victim admitted.
The Anchovy Police were summoned to the scene and they are presently carrying out an investigation into this latest crash.
