GREEN ISLAND, Hanover — A 22-year-old bike taxi operator has been charged with rape, abduction, and indecent assault in connection with an incident that occurred in the York Hill district of the parish on February 27.
The accused, Clifton Brissett, otherwise called ‘Pancho’, is of a Salt Spring, Green Island address.
According to the Lucea police, at approximately 3:30 p.m. on the day in question, a woman was walking along the roadway when Brissett allegedly approached her, pulled her into nearby bushes, and sexually assaulted her.
Following a report made to the police, an investigation was launched. On May 7, Brissett turned himself in. He was later positively identified during an identification parade and was formally charged on May 16.
Brissett is scheduled to appear in the Hanover Parish Court on May 20.
Investigations are ongoing.
