Hanover, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Gunmen Attack Hopewell Party: A 19-year-old boy was admitted to the Cornwall Regional Hospital in serious condition, and several other patrons were left nursing injuries, after gunmen shot up a party which was being held at premises on Camp Road in Hopewell, Hanover on Sunday, September 10.
Reports are that shortly after 8:30 pm on Sunday while the party was in full swing, two men armed with handguns entered the premises and opened fire on the crowd.
During the shooting, the teenager received gunshot wounds to his upper body. Several other patrons who ran, ended up with broken limbs.
The Sandy Bay police were alerted. and upon their arrival, the wounded teenager was transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he was admitted in serious condition.
The other injured patrons were also treated and admitted.
The police say since the murder of a man in the area two weeks ago and the fatal shooting of one of Hanover’s most wanted men in the same area, they have now stepped up patrols.
