Police seized a firearm and 50 rounds of ammunition following an exchange of gunfire during an operation along Hope Avenue in Land Settlement, Manchester, on Thursday, August 6.
According to the Mandeville police, the incident occurred about 3:35 p.m. when a team conducting an operation in the area came under gunfire from two men.
The police say the officers returned fire, prompting the men to flee the area.
A subsequent search led to the seizure of a Remington 12-gauge shotgun and 50 rounds of 12-gauge ammunition.
No member of the police team was injured in the incident, and no arrests were made.
Investigations are ongoing.
