February 14, 2025 — Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen will return to his official duties on Monday, according to a statement from King’s House. Sir Patrick has been on leave since December 16, recuperating from spinal surgery.
During his absence, Custos Rotulorum of Kingston, Steadman Fuller, assumed his responsibilities, including delivering the Throne Speech at the ceremonial opening of Parliament on Thursday.
“Custos Fuller’s tenure in this role concludes on Friday, February 14, 2025, and the Governor-General extends his sincere gratitude for his dedication and service to the nation during this period,” King’s House announced.
Sir Patrick is scheduled to be back in office on Monday, resuming his full range of official duties.
