Spanish Town, St Catherine — The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) is probing the early morning shooting death of a man along Port Henderson Road, near the community of Dela Vega City in Spanish Town.
The deceased has been identified as 51-year-old Norris Williams, a garbage collector from Jones Avenue, also in Spanish Town.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 5:50 a.m. on Tuesday. Williams was walking along the roadway when he was ambushed by unknown assailant(s) who opened fire, hitting him multiple times.
He was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital by residents who responded to the commotion, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
No motive has yet been established for the killing, and the attackers remain at large. Investigators are appealing to anyone with information that can assist in identifying the shooter(s) to contact the Spanish Town Police or call Crime Stop at 311.
