Police in St Ann are probing the killing of a 40-year-old man whose body was discovered at his home in Silkfield, Moneague, on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Germaine Hedge, otherwise known as “Hetchie,” a fruit vendor and disc jockey from the community.
Reports indicate that around 1:45 a.m., residents heard several loud explosions believed to be gunshots in the area. Hours later, a neighbour reportedly went to check on Hedge and found him lying face down inside his room in a pool of blood.
The incident was later reported to the Jamaica Constabulary Force by a relative of the deceased.
Investigators from the Moneague Police are continuing their probe into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
