A four-year search for a Clarendon man wanted in connection with murder has ended with his arrest in Portland.
Forty-three-year-old Leighton Delahaye of James Hill, Clarendon, was apprehended by police on Sunday, August 16, during an intelligence-led operation in Boundbrook, Port Antonio.
Police say Delahaye had been evading capture for four years while allegedly posing as a taxi operator in Portland.
The operation followed information received by law enforcement about his whereabouts. A team of officers subsequently carried out a targeted operation in the community, leading to his arrest.
Delahaye was wanted by the St Andrew Central Police in connection with the 2022 murder of 29-year-old British national Safia Davy on Hagley Park Road, St Andrew.
He is expected to be handed over to detectives in the St Andrew Central Division. After investigative procedures are completed, he is expected to be charged and brought before the court.
The investigation remains ongoing.
