Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: two teenage boys have now been taken into custody in connection with the seizure of four homemade guns in the parish on Sunday, May 13.
The investigators have pointed out that the names of the boys, 17 years old and 18 years old are being withheld pending further investigations.
Reports by the police are that, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, the joint military forces carried out several operations in the Whithorne policing area.
During the search of a premises, the teenage boys were seen and the search yield in the discovery of four homemade handguns. Both boys were taken into custody in connection with the seizure.
The police have now indicated that this latest seizure is part of the recent crime plan and strategies being set in place, as an approach to fighting the recent upsurge of crime in the area.
