Dancehall entertainer Andrew Davis, popularly known as Flippa Mafia, has withdrawn his request for bail as he faces serious drug-related charges in the United States.
The decision was made on Monday and comes amid changes to his legal representation. Davis ended his relationship with court-appointed attorney Edward Borden and has retained Philadelphia-based attorney Jason Javie, who specializes in civil rights, appeals, and post-conviction criminal defence matters.
Flippa Mafia was reportedly on probation for a previous drug conviction when he was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.
He and three co-accused — Damion Jones, James McBride, and Clifford Brown — are facing charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl.
All four defendants have indicated plans to enter plea negotiations with federal prosecutors. The court has given them until July 11 to complete those discussions.
None of the other accused men have applied for bail.
