The St. Andrew police have arrested and charged a fisherman who reportedly used a spear gun to shoot another fisherman during an incident at a beach in the parish on Friday.
The accused, 19-year-old Jerome Thorpe, has been charged with Wounding With Intent.
Reports by the Bulls Bay police indicate that around 2:00 pm, Thorpe and another fisherman were at a beach in Nine Mile when an argument developed between them.
During the dispute, Thorpe allegedly used a spear gun to shoot the other man in the neck.
The wounded man was rushed to the hospital, where he was treated and admitted. A report was made to the police, leading to Thorpe’s arrest and charge.
