The St. James Police seized one firearm and three rounds of ammunition during an operation in New Ramble, St James on Thursday, July 6. One man was taken into custody in relation to this seizure.
Reports are that about 12:07 a.m., lawmen were in the area when they saw a man walking with a bag along the roadway. On seeing the Police the man ran and dropped the bag. He was caught and the bag was also retrieved. Closer examination of the bag revealed that it contained a 9mm pistol with a magazine containing three 9mm rounds of ammunition.
The man was subsequently taken into custody. His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
