Rapper Fetty Wap has been released from federal prison earlier than expected and is now serving the remainder of his sentence under home confinement, according to the Bureau of Prisons.
The 34-year-old artist, who was sentenced in May 2023 to six years behind bars for his involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy, was transferred this week to home confinement in Philadelphia. Federal records indicate he is scheduled to be fully released from custody on November 8, 2026.
Following his transfer, Fetty Wap made a brief public appearance online, thanking supporters for standing by him during his incarceration.
Although no longer in prison, the rapper remains under strict federal supervision. He is subject to five years of closely monitored conditions, including regular drug testing and financial oversight. Authorities have prohibited him from opening new bank accounts without prior approval and require full disclosure of income and tax records to the U.S. Probation Department.
In addition, Fetty Wap is barred from consuming alcohol or any other intoxicating substances unless prescribed by a licensed physician. If ordered by the court, he may also be required to participate in an outpatient substance abuse treatment program, with continued testing during and after completion.
Fetty Wap’s conviction stemmed from his arrest involving more than 500 grams of cocaine and a significant amount of cash. His early transition to home confinement reflects compliance with institutional requirements while serving his sentence.
The artist’s representatives have not issued an official statement beyond his public message of appreciation to fans.
